Yeah....
So it's been a year since I said "I want to get a significant amount of work done on Open Space, during the month of November."

I am so lame.

But yeah, I'll say exactly the same thing again this year.
And then I will proceed to either disappoint greatly, or surprise epically.
Probably the former!

So! Right now I am part-way through Chapter one.
If I can ever stop saying that, it will be good, I think. XD

Though, if I could finish the whole book, in the coming month, that would be amazing. It is also something that will not occur.

Unlike last year, I will not stop drawing things just to pretend like I'm gonna write SO MUCH and then just slack off. nono. I'll keep drawing things.

In the coming month, I also want to premier my new series.

But, more and more, OS keeps getting pushed back and further and is becoming the Phantom Novel that never was. Oooooo *waves arms spookily*

Two things for you, today.

This one was drawn while listening to "Celtic Quest," a CD of awesome Irish instrumentals. So you should assume that the characters are playing that type of music.

The characters are loosely based off of some of my stuffed animals. Steggy, Rusty (and his sister Sue), and Nuhno.
Sue may be holding the flute incorrectly. The first reference I saw had it pointed to the character's left, like this... So that's how I drew it.......... But all the pictures I saw after that had it pointed to the other side. XD;;

I'll do more with this sketch, eventually.

If you're interested, there's another drawing (that I did a while back) inspired by the same CD.

This used to be in my dA gallery, but I think it's in storage, now. *shrug*

Also, I printed another meme and filled it out (with scribbles), but I'm too lazy to post it on deviantART.

A while back, I posted a sketch of this dinosaur, saying I was thinkin' of putting it on a T-Shirt, or something.
I Vectorised it last night, and now it is a T-Shirt.
It is available in Green or Yellow, for both ladies and dudes.

There will be a kissy-face panda T-Shirt, or something along those lines, coming later, as soon as I finalise the designs. :D

Well, a while back I expressed interest in screen printing clothes and stuff.

But since I am filled with shipping!fail, I decided not to do it.

But man I still want to see people walking around wearing my art. XD

Like like to be out one day and randomly see a chick with a kissy-face panda over her boob?

So I considered many times using those websites where you upload your pictures and then people can order shirts and stuff...

BUT NOT CAFE PRESS.

Cafe press doesn't accept anything but credit cards, which means that I would not be able to buy my own stuff. D:

I was thinking of submitting designs to threadless, but that is voting based, I think. And voting is Dawa's natural enemy.
There are some other sites I'm considering, but I'll have to look into it further.

Anyway! I was considering something like this (but it will be bigger and more vectortastic and possibly colourful when/if I turn it into something that can be printed onto clothes):

But I'm not sure what caption I would put with it, or if it would have a caption at all... Whenever I go back to read my caption ideas a few days later, I always think "man, that's lame."

Basically, it is just a sixteen-minute drawing in four minutes, to show how Tenty is drawn. :D (But, really, it was just to show that I finally figured out how to speed up movie clips. ohoho.)

L: Lambeosaurus (I need to pick a better "L" dinosaur.)
M: Muttaburrasaurus (The "Look at my Nostrils" Dinosaur.)

Bonus: To fill space, I drew a tiny Procompsognathus.
O: Oviraptor ("Sway with me and move your feet to the funky rhythm.")
P: Pachycephalosaurus. (I have been pronouncing this one COMPLETELY wrong.)

Maybe you have noticed, but in these sketches, all of them are saying part of their names... Like Pokemon...... BUT Really, that is just my method for remembering their names.

Dinosaur Alphabet (A-I)

Well, today my sister borrowed my comp for homework.

While she was doing that, I took a nap... Then I had ice-cream and resumed my nap... Then I decided to look through my dinosaur book, because I was bored.

A while back I was thinking about dinosaurs and how an alphabet book with dinosaurs would be cool... I wondered, though, if there would be a dinosaur with a name starting with each letter...

So, I looked in the index of the book and the only letter that didn't have any dinosaur listed was "Y."
And I thought that there must be one somewhere on the internet, even if it isn't in my book.

So I started writing down names of ones I might like to draw for each letter, and making sketches.

So anyway! I THOUGHT I'D PUT TOGETHER A DINOSAUR ALPHABET BOOK. :D

And here are the messy "idea" sketches that I have done so far.
(The final drawings will be better.)

I was looking through my previous sketchbook, to see if there were any forgotten character refs in thar, and it fell open to this page near the back.

I had completely forgoten about this. (Even so, I have gotten better at finishing pictures, before moving on, since I usually forget a lot more than one drawing-per-book.) It was drawn during the time when I was watching the Comic Con coverage on G4. (One of these years I will actually go, maybe?)

From the top, they are Allosaurus, Eustreptospondylus, and Carnotarus.
No effort was made to clean this up, before scanning, so this is a look at how drawings are before I make them pretty.

When I drew it, I had intended to ink and colour and stuff... But I also recall wanting to attach additional pieces of paper, so that you could see more than their heads........ If I ever decide to finish this, I may just redraw it completely. XD

In other news:
This Friday's episode of Stargate Atlantis is not one to miss. BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY will be guest starring (along with some other real-life science-dude whose name escapes me)..... IT IS VERY EXCITING, YES?
Mr. THE SCIENCE GUY taught me everything I know about ~~spiders~~ SCIENCE.

Alright, no more avoiding it. I'm just going down the list. It's time for Character designs. .............. So why am I wasteing time drawing characters that have already been designed? (Such as those who were introduced in those unfinished comics which I will consider the "pilot.") That is because those pages are OLD. (And I need more up-to-date images.)

Characters in perspective~

For Tuesday and Wednesday ("today"), I was working on perspective for characters.

It's not the same as perspective for buildings... It's haaaarder.

Anyway!
Instead of using my perspective book to learn the way to draw a figure in 3-point perspective, I used the "stupid" method of closing one eye, holding my posed manga mannequin reeeeeally close to my other eye, and just drawing what I see. XD

The result was this:

I wanted to draw a more "extreme" view... But such a small figure can't get much more extremely perspectived... Unless I took my glasses off, got it as close to my eye as possible, ripped it's legs off, and tossed them on the floor. (I wouldn't do that, though... Because I went to too much trouble to reattach the legs after they fell off naturally.)....... lol...
My method is so bothersome. XD

Don't worry, though... I got such a headache from keeping one eye shut for so long, that I'll never do it that way, again.

The sad part is that the above picture didn't serve its purpose, at all. XD
I wanted to draw a Dawasaurus picture... But whenever I try to use "Manga-Man" for a ref., I end up just DRAWING Manga-Man! D:

So... Later that morning (it was actually Wednesday morning, but I was still calling it Tuesday), I drew the Dawasaurus picture... This time, the perspective was just guess-work. XD Also, I gave in, and admitted to my sketchbook that it was, indeed, Wednesday.

Then, I finished it up when I awoke in the evening. (Still Wednesday, for real!)

One day, I'll do perspective the proper way. :U
(Thatdayisnottoday.)

Now... I'll go back to working on that picture for which I had previously done the rough sketch. It'll be stupendous. :D
